A successful home addition project needs to start with a solid foundation. For this project, we were adding square footage to the living room plus adding a master bed room and an additional master bathroom with a walk-in shower.
This photo shows a real clean foundation, with vents incorporated in the cement footing to adequately vent the crawl space. It also shows a perimeter footing drain which will enable any excess water coming off of the new roof and new gutters to be picked up. The hold downs are in place per code in all corners, the rim joist is interfacing the TGI floor joist system. Back in 2007 this project estimate was $135,000 in the Shoreline area. The neighbor liked it so much she hired us to do the same. Great project, great value.
